The old town of Lucca is remarkable for being completely surrounded by its ancient city walls that give a unique atmosphere walking amongst the historic buildings and with bicycles the main form of transport. It look likes a big medieval village where ancient traditions and typical taste still survive.
Lucca is ideally placed for the airport (Pisa is only 25 minutes drive away), Florence (45-55 minutes), the beaches (about 25-30 minutes) and the mountains including the ski resort of Abetone (75 minutes). Access without a car is also very simple with train links to Pisa, Viareggio and Florence plus bus links to the same cities and more.
Parking in Lucca could seem difficult, because cars are not allowed to drive inside all the city centre, but there are payment parking lots inside the walls and free parking outside along secondary streets.
We invite you to Lucca, a
city of style,
history & taste,
bordered by mountains, mediterranean beaches
and a countryside rich in olive groves, vineyards and farms.
